Noordwijk Beach

Today in Noordwijk, Libby and I had a nice stroll though town and up to the beach. Since today was the day after Sinterklaasdag we expected to find lots of great Sinterklaas & Zwarte Piet things on sale...Unfortunately, everyone beat us to the sales because most of the racks were cleared out. I did manage to snag some Sinterklaas & Zwarte Piet wrapping paper for and some speculaas which is a really great spice cookie with almond inside. Yes, I am addicted to Dutch cookies and sweets! This could partially influenced by working with kids all day but mostly just because the cakes, cookies and candies are so good here!

Libby and I at windy, Noordwijk beach

Noordwijk is small beach town, full of seasonal shops and hotels that fill up to maximum capacity in the summer. Of course, with cold, cloudy weather there wasn't much action along the shore but it was still fun to visit. How spooky are these clouds?

I definitely liked the dunes the best. There's a cool aesthetic with the beach grass blowing in the wind and an abandoned shore. Here's a few shots...

I can't wait for summer time so we can picnic... on the beach!
